BODORGAN COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUP – NEWSLETTER APRIL 30th 2020
We are living in strange and difficult times. The current lockdown is unprecedented in living memory, and is understandably having a massive impact on our lives, not least when it comes to social matters. As things stand, the opportunities to meet friends and neighbours through functions at the Community Centre are some away in the future, and that could even mean months rather than weeks – at the moment we just don’t know. All we can do is to hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
For many years Malltraeth Ymlaen has been an excellent example of social networking, and this is why you the residents voted overwhelmingly to keep it going. The last email you received a few days back said that Companies House had deferred the closure initially until October, but they have now ruled that the closure has been refused. Malltraeth Ymlaen is officially back in business ! What we need to do now is to find a way of operating in some form or other during lockdown. We’ll keep you posted on progress, and if anybody has ideas or suggestions, please email
Meanwhile, Jude Williams has been working overtime on shopping trips and deliveries for people who are self isolating. Jude is the contact person for anybody who needs help, and has access to a list of volunteers who are willing and able to do their bit. Medrwn mMon on 01248 724944 also take calls for assistance and route them to the appropriate source of help. ( Probably Jude Williams ! )
Pat Dobie, Barbara and their colleagues are working their sewing machines full time, making surgical masks, caps, gowns, uniform bags and other essential items for hospitals and care homes. These items are made from recycled items such as pillow slips, bed sheets or duvet covers. If you have any of these items to spare, please email
A big thank you also to Barbara Owen ( cegin nain ) who is in self isolation, but is turning out batches of cakes for delivery to hospital wards , hospice at home, ambulance service, community nurses and so on. All much appreciated. For the latest updates, see Malltraeth.com website .

Access to Councillors

150 Club
The 150 Club has been another casualty of the lockdown, with no gatherings at which it can be promoted. Membership is rising slowly, and is currently at 65. Because it’s not currently possible to hold the monthly draws at the Community Centre the membership list is still open and will remain so until the first opportunity to hold a draw. This means there will be fewer draws than the usual 10, but the prize amounts will be proportionately higher. Proceeds in aid of the 2020 Christmas Lunch. Anybody wishing to add their name to the list, please call Alan on 01407 840880 or send an email to
Above all – STAY SAFE !!
