MINUTES – MALLTRAETH YMLAEN
WEDNESDAY 22 JULY 2015
A warm welcome was given by the Chairman to all residents and guests who attended the meeting.
PRESENT: Dafydd Jones (Chairman), Jeff Hughes (Treasurer), Sheila Jones (Secretary),

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 24 JUNE 2015 & MATTERS ARISING: Minutes were proposed as a true record by Ali Rowlands and seconded by many in attendance. No matters arising.
POLICING MATTERS: No representative available to attend. Dafydd reported that a speed monitor will be in Malltraeth soon, and will stay there for over a week.
COMMUNITY FEAST: Rachel has booked a Skiffle Band for 12 September. The Feast will commence at 4.30 pm until 7.30 pm. Another meeting will be held on Sunday evening next at 6 pm at Rachel’s house to discuss food etc.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF SOLAR FARM IN THE COMMUNITY: This issue is still on-going. Capell Aris gave an update on the situation. His group have developed a website called “Anglesey against Solar Panels”. The Planning Application should have been entered to the Planning Authority today. Dafydd has written to Lightsource since our last meeting; he has also written another letter to the local authority today, as it appears that they have no policy in place regarding solar panel parks.
PROPOSED WIND TURBINE: Screening application submitted for a wind turbine. It is proposed to have a 36m hub height, tip height 48m at Ty,n Rallt. The electricity generated will be for the landowner’s own use. It is possible that the MOD will object to this turbine as it may be on the helicopter flight path. The Community Council are objecting to this turbine, and it was unanimously agreed that we also object to this proposal. A letter will be sent to the local authority.
CLOSURE OF BODORGAN SCHOOL: Dafydd stated that the statutory consultation is still on-going; he has also written a letter on behalf of the group objecting to the closure of the School. Everyone was asked to write individual letters of objection and send it to the following address: Programme Manager, Department of Lifelong Learning, Park Mount, Glanhwfa Road, Llangefni, LL77 7EY.
FUTURE OF THE COMMUNITY ENTRE: A firm of solicitors have agreed to work on a pro-bono basis. Ashurst LLP will now advice the Community Centre Committee
SPIRIT OF 12 – 14 – UPDATE: Next meeting will be on 3rd August at Bodorgan.
COMMUNITY FUN DAY 2015 – REPORT: This was held on 27 June last. Dafydd thanked everyone who helped out on the day. It raised £1,011 for the benefit of the community. It was mentioned that those people who were with stalls inside the School hall were feeling cut off from what was happening outside on the School field. This issue to be addressed in the future.
COMMUNITY CHEST – FUNDING FOR SPORTS ACTIVITIES: An application for a grant of £1,500 can be submitted to the local authority. A suggestion was made to have two goalposts on the children’s play area if successful.
HORIZON COMMUNITY FUNDING: Dafydd to do.Nothing to report.
KEEP WALES TIDY – BUZZ FUND: Still waiting to hear from KWT.
COMMUNITY ISSUES: Nothing to report.
BODORGAN COMMUNITY EVENTS:
Sunday 16 August – Llyn Parc Mawr
Saturday 12 September – Bodorgan Community Feast
During the School Summer holidays, there will be a drama group for 7 – 11 year olds at Crist-y-Brenin Church. These groups will be held every Thursday from 10 am – 11.30 am for 6 weeks.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
- Vanda Bourhill was thanked by Dafydd for weeding the whole area of Clwt Glas.
- Dafydd reported that Mrs Eirwen Roberts is retiring from teaching at Ysgol Bodorgan for the last 34 years. She had sent us a “Thank You” card which is on the notice board in the centre.
- Dafydd has received a card from the School pupils thanking him for the play area equipment.
- To thank Sarah Davies and the helpers for re planting three of the village planters.
- On Thursday, 13 August, a fundraiser will be held in aid of the Air Ambulance at Y Porfa, The Drive, Malltraeth. This event will start at 1 pm.
