The school would like to thank the community for their support during the recent consultations by the County Council as part of the rationalisation of primary education on Anglesey. As you are aware, 15 schools were included in the process. The response from Bodorgan included 86 letters of support, together with representations by Mr Albert Owen MP and Mr Ieuan Wyn Jones AM. The schools case was presented to the Executive Committee of the County Council on Monday the 16th November by Mr Robin Griffiths the Headmaster and Mr Myfyr Davies on behalf of the school, Mr Dafydd Jones on behalf of the community and Mrs Sara Davies on behalf of the parents. On the 30th November, the Executive Committee resolved to move forward to the statutory closure process with respect to three schools, and to consider the merger of a further two, to seek funds to build an area school to replace another four, together with further consultation in Holyhead which could lead to the closure of up to two schools. The decision with regard to Bodorgan was to maintain its current status. Should the financial situation deteriorate, the County Council may have to reveiw their decision at some time in the future. The current projections show a significant increase in pupil numbers in Bodorgan in the coming years. Sadly, the Council have decided to move forward with the closure procedure with respect to Aberffraw, and we sympathise with our neighbouring community, and wish them well in their fight to maintain their educational facilites. Should the Aberffraw school eventually close, the County Council may transfer its catchment area to Bodorgan, which would certainly benefit Bodorgan School, and thus the local community.

Have you'r Breakfast in School. All children attending school at Bodorgan can now join the breakfast club free of charge - Breakfast available from 8am until 8-45am.

The schools summer trip went to Chester Zoo on Wednesday the 8th July. The cost of the bus and entry to the Zoo for the children and school staff was paid for by the Friends of the School.
