Malltraeth Ymlaen Meetings

Next Meeting- Wednesday 27th March 2013 at 7pm - Bodorgan Community Centre.

-----------------------------------------------------------
The 'COB' at Malltraeth will be 200 years old in 2012, construction works having commenced in 1788 and abandoned a few times until the scheme was redesigned by the well known engineers John Rennie and Thomas Telford and works were completed in 1812.
A key feature of the scheme are the tidal doors, the originals designed by Thomas Telford.
Should a set of the 'Tidal Doors' of the original design and specification be displayed at Malltraeth ?

The question has been answered in the affirmative and funding secured for the works to proceed - see Cob page

This is how 'Clwt Glas',Malltraeth should look by mid 2010.
Funding for this project has now been secured. Work on the site started on the 8th May 2010, and was completed by mid August. The site has two interpretation boards mounted on a stone plinth, and three picnic tables, together with one bench. One picnic table is adapted for wheelchair users. Disabled access is on the level, directly from the pavement by the bridge, with a set of steps and a handrail at the other end of the site, by the entrance to the foreshore. Funding for a small garden enclosed within dwarf stone walls at the narrow part of the site was agreed by Keep Wales Tidy on the 28th April 2010 and that is now completed and planted.
